There is a world out there, and it belongs to our children.
It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t stress. Often, it doesn’t even notice other people.
I lost sight of my kids earlier in a box store, and this is how I found them:
Completely enthralled by books.
What they wanted didn’t require glitter, batteries, or adults.
It was breathtaking.
If I’m honest, I am considering a simple Christmas for my kids.
Not because I am Scrooge.
But because – as their mother – I get to peek into their special universe.
And only in that moment – when they are flipping through an experience with such wonder – do I get the entire meaning of parenthood:
What your kids need is what you give them every day.
YOU are the gift.
YOU are the everyday Christmas.
YOU are the daily miracle in their lives.
