I called my Nana today.
An old friend of mine lost her Poppy today.
My Nana and I talked about COVID.
My friend's Poppy died from COVID.
I told my Nana to give my Grandpop a hug from me.
My friend's Mimi, who lost her husband, has COVID too and is presently in the hospital battling it.
People say, "I don't have to wear a mask," and "You can't make me."
But, hear this:
Your refusal to wear a dang mask gives us a look behind yours, and I don't like what I see.
It's a person disguised as a compassionate human who, instead of looking out for the greater good, is selfishly adhering to the fudged up idea that any one of us matters more than another.
Mask up or hermit the heck up, because if you don't, the only thing that is going to go up is the number of deaths in this country, and there is no guarantee it won't be yours or someone you know.
