My daughter did not want to sit still for this picture years ago.
I was not above bribing her. Not for a hot second.
Of course I wanted the adorable million-watt smile that only she could give.
But I would settle for this.
I think about how we want the perfectly posed, "Everybody smile now!" photo but filters and fake smiles isn't real life.
Life is "I can't sit still because I have stuff to do."
Life is rips in the party dress.
Life is "I don't want to smile right now."
Life is sticky candy cane all over your mouth.
It's not the matching outfits, cheese smile pictures that stick out for me anyway.
It's the messy ones.
