If 35 year-old me had to imagine what life would be like for 45 year-old me, well, this would not be it.
But that doesn’t mean this (yes, all of this) isn’t the right version of life.
We want things a certain way — we hope and pray for things to turn out the way we want because we mistakenly think we know best. Or worse, we think that we have all of the answers and are (gasp!) in control.
Sure, I willingly brought these birds into my life but I wouldn’t have if our world hadn’t stopped. If life had chucked right along, I would have never known the fun, the joy, and the downright bizarre they bring to our lives.
Good things can come out of dark times. We must have faith.
This is not the version of life I would have imagined, but it sure is the best version of life for me. It’s also the best version for our kids.
I’ve said it before, if we try too hard to force things into the way we want or think they should be, we run the risk of losing what could be. Have faith, friends. The best days may be right ahead of you. xo
