Let me tell you about this photo...
We were shooting with Briana Lindsey Photography last weekend and Ava just wasn't having it. She didn't want to smile, didn't want to be put down, didn't want to have anything to do with photos. She was pouting, crying, whining and our photos just weren't "working."
So I picked her up and started to breastfeed her which, of course, solves the problem every single time. But I'll admit it, I was annoyed. These photos are my job so I needed them done. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and (I'll say it) mad. And then Briana started snapping away. She had Frank come over to join in and we ended up with probably the most beautiful photo of our little family. EVER. When I saw it, it took my breath away -- so real + so perfect. I let go and we ended up with something more perfect than I could have imagined up myself.
And that's how I think we should live as mothers. Prepare what we can but realize that it's going to be out of our control -- it's in God's hands and He has a perfect plan for us.
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. . . . Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." -- PHILIPPIANS 4: 6-8
