When I was 15, I left home. Since then, my family became the people who I could count on. The people who encouraged me and made me feel like I mattered. My family has since grown to include 4 biological children, two adopted children, and friends that I'm closer to than a lot of my blood relatives.

My family is like my tribe, the people I can count on no matter what. Most of them, aren't blood at all. A family is built, not born.
