In my photos I was 18 weeks pregnant with twins. the past when someone became pregnant with twins, bed rest was the prescription for many expecting moms. Even now any advice you may find on activity while pregnant with twins is to stick with light walking and minimal activity.

Keeping active during my pregnancy has nothing to do with my body image (because hello thick thighs that appeared out of nowhere!), but more about staying moving so I don't have as many preganancy aches and pains, grow healthy babies, and hopefully it will help with my postpartum recovery.

I trained CrossFit for three years prior to becoming pregnant at 36 years old with twins. The first 8 weeks of pregnancy I didn't know I had twins yet. I competed in an online competiton (even reaching a personal record on a couple Olympic lifts), and I trained very similar to I did pre-pregnancy. As time has gone on and I have grown a larger belly, movements become modified, weights are lighter, and I move a slower pace so I don't get overheated and can breathe.

I competed up to 18 weeks pregnant in the scales division of the CrossFit open. Sometimes taking a score, and sometimes not taking a score because I modified movements I physically could not do anymore. But it allowed me to still feel powerful, to still feel like I could stay active and healthy, and stay fit for this pregnancy.

The key is to be in tune with your body. If something doesn't feel right, don't do it. If you have any pregnancy complications and your doctor has told you to take it easy, listen to your doctor.

I am currently going into my 24th week of pregnancy and I have slowed down when my doctor has told me to slow down, I have taken breaks from workouts when necessary. My goal is to keep moving until I no longer can, and hopefully that will be until these boys are born!
