I learned my lesson after leaving his schedule in the hotel room...don't let his happen to you;)

Here’s a great example of why A visual schedule is so important! I made the mistake of leaving his schedule at our hotel. Had I brought it..or even a pen and paper to make one along the way, I could have, for the most part, avoided all of this! Lesson learned. I’m still happy with how well he did without it! It’s also something that happens and in a way it’s a good thing for him to work through not having one. We used PECS daily until be was as verbal as he is now. Selfishly I hated having to carry about the book of pictures, printing them, laminating...cutting velcro🙄 I believed that once he could communicate I could get rid of them and all would be good! While is able to say what he wants he is still not conversational. He gets his point across and is a very popular guy...but, my guess is that his needing to hold a visual schedule is similar to me needing a visual LIST when I go to the grocery store. (Yep, I know what I need but once I’m there I’m overwhelmed with the selection and my list goes out the window!lol) So for any new parents...if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! It’s makes his life easier and in turn makes for a more relaxing day out!❤️🤙 Believe it or not.... This was actually better than I had expected!❤️🤙
