Our story began when we found out we were pregnant with twins. They were mono mono twins (about 1 in every 10,000 births) they were identical, same sac, same placenta. We found out devastating news one of the twins was not going to make it, she had anencephaly (about 3 in every 10,000 births). I was admitted to the hospital in week 26th of the pregnacy due to the mono mono twins and cord entanglement being extremely high and with the one twin having anencephaly I and the girls were monitored very closely. Our goal with the high risk pregnacy doctors was to make it to 34 weeks and we would have a planned c section if all look good on the monitors with the girls. Week 29 came and I suddenly went into labor, things progressed quickly. We went in for the c section and one March 26th 2017 at 8:01pm Haven Janell was born weighing 1lb 7oz and we were blessed with 3 beautiful hours with her before she passed. At 8:02pm Aurora Skye was born weighing 2lbs 6oz and she was immediately taken up to the NICU where she spent 54 days before she was well and strong enough to come home. Life has been so very exciting but also very difficult and lots of heartache. I'll never look at pregnacy the same, pregnacy is such a gift and such a blessing. To all the NICU families out there, and to all of the families out there who have lost a litte life way to soon, know you are not alone.
